Sisterlocks and locs in White Plains, NY
Certified since 2000. Brand Ambassador since 2018.
Tiny, uniform locs that move like loose hair, installed and maintained by a consultant you can look up on the official Sisterlocks registry. I also do Brotherlocks, traditional locs, interlocks, extension locs and the repairs that keep them healthy.
Look me up before you book.
Sisterlocks® is a trademarked method. Only certified consultants and registered trainees can install it, and the official registry is the place to check who is current.

From consultation to your first retightening.
The method parts your hair into tiny, uniform sections and weaves each one into a delicate, interlocking pattern. It takes care to start, and it gives you a low-maintenance style with real versatility, from sleek updos to loose, cascading waves.
Consultation
I look at your hair and scalp, talk through your goals and plan your installation. Every new install starts here.
Installation
Your locs are installed over more than one session. How long it takes depends on your hair's length and density, and I give you the plan up front.
Retightening
Sisterlocks are generally retightened every 4 to 6 weeks. I set your schedule and a care routine so your locs stay neat and strong.
Every kind of loc, cared for in one chair.

Traditional locs
Natural hair allowed to form thick, cylindrical locs over time, with a classic look or a contemporary twist.
Interlocks
Individual strands interwoven into a seamless, secure locking pattern. Sleek or bold, and low maintenance.
Extension locs
Extensions locked into your natural hair for length and volume, applied to look natural and keep your own hair healthy.
Maintenance and repair
Regular maintenance, plus repair for locs that are thinning, breaking or have come apart. Bring locs started anywhere.
Loc styling
Updos, waves and everyday styles that keep tension off your edges.
I look after the scalp under your locs, too.
Locs are only as strong as the scalp they grow from. With a Master in Dermotricology, I watch for the things a stylist alone might miss: thinning at the roots, buildup trapped in the locs and itching or flaking that will not settle.
If your roots are thinning, see hair loss and scalp care. If your scalp itches or flakes under your locs, see scalp care for itchy and irritated scalps. I start with your locs as they are. A scalp care session can be done on both Sisterlocks and Brotherlocks without taking them down.
Sisterlocks FAQ
How can I check that you are a certified Sisterlocks consultant?
Look me up on the official Sisterlocks registry for New York. I am listed under White Plains as a Brand Ambassador and distributor.
What is the difference between Sisterlocks and microlocs?
Sisterlocks® is a trademarked method with its own tools and parting pattern, and only certified consultants or registered trainees can install it. Microlocs is a general name for small locs made with other methods. Both can look similar at first, but the technique and the maintenance differ.
How long does a Sisterlocks installation take?
It depends on the length and density of your hair, and it is spread over more than one session. I give you a plan and a time estimate at your consultation.
How often do Sisterlocks need retightening?
Generally every 4 to 6 weeks. After your installation, I set a schedule that fits your hair and how fast it grows.
Can you repair locs that are thinning, breaking or matted?
Yes. Loc repair is part of what I do. If the thinning starts at the root, I also look at your scalp, because that is often where the problem begins.
Do you work on locs someone else started?
Yes. Book a consultation first so I can see the condition of your locs and your scalp before I plan maintenance or repair.
