From corporate America to the chair.
I started out in corporate America. A motivational speech changed my direction, and I enrolled in beauty school. What began as a career change became a commitment to helping my clients look and feel their best.
My Sisterlocks journey started in 1997, when a client asked for locs, just not traditional ones. My research led me to Dr. Cornwell in San Diego, where I trained. I have been certified since 2000 and became a Sisterlocks Brand Ambassador in 2018.
I have been behind the chair since 1997, 29 years now. Today I bring that experience as a licensed cosmetologist, Sisterlocks Brand Ambassador and Master Locktician to every client I see.
Over the years, I kept seeing clients struggle with hair loss, and I wanted real answers for them. That sent me back to study trichology, and later dermotricology, with a focus on hair loss and scalp health. It is why I look at your scalp, not just your style.

Are you a certified Sisterlocks consultant?
Yes. I have been certified since 2000, and I am listed as a Brand Ambassador and distributor under White Plains on the official Sisterlocks registry.
What does "The Loc Doc" mean?
It is the name I am known by for my loc and scalp care. You will see it on my logo and on my White Tea Edge Control.
Is a dermotricologist a medical doctor?
No. A dermotricologist focuses on the health of the scalp, hair and skin from the care side. I do not diagnose or treat medical conditions, and I refer clients to a doctor when needed.
How long have you been doing locs?
I completed my Sisterlocks training in 1997 and have been a certified Sisterlocks consultant since 2000.
